A digital phoropter is a device used by eye doctors to measure a patient's refractive error and determine the appropriate prescription for corrective lenses. It replaces the traditional mechanical phoropter with a computerized system that allows for more precise and efficient measurements.
The TRK-2P provides accurate and reliable intraocular pressure measurements. Studies show that the corneal thickness directly correlates to IOP measurements. The built-in pachometer function can be used to adjust the IOP value depending if the cornea is thicker or thinner than average.
The test is performed by an Optometrist and is used to detect areas of vision loss (blind spots) caused by a brain tumor, stroke, glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension, or head trauma. It can also be used to monitor the progression of previously known visual field loss.
